UAE’s “Stand with Lebanon” Campaign Collects AED 110 Million in First Week

Abu Dhabi [UAE], October 14: The UAE’s two-week aid campaign for Lebanon, “UAE Stand with Lebanon”, has collected AED110 million worth of food and medical supplies, shelter equipment and other relief items in its first week.

The response of the UAE community, which includes people from around the world, demonstrated its humanitarian spirit and the resonant legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE.

The campaign was launched under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the continuity and supervision of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Court. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidential Court for Development and Veterans Affairs and President of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has provided immediate support by allocating US$100 million in emergency aid to the Lebanese people and US$30 million to Lebanese refugees in Syria. A total of 10 relief flights carrying 450 tonnes of relief goods have been dispatched.
