ADQ Takes Over DARB and Mawaqif Operations, Supporting Abu Dhabi's Vision for Smart, Sustainable Transport

ADQ to Manage Abu Dhabi’s Toll and Parking Systems, Enhancing Transport Efficiency

ADQ undertakes the management, operation and development of Abu Dhabi’s toll system, DARB and Mawaqif parking system under the regulatory supervision of the municipalities represented by the Integrated Transport Center and the Department of Transport.

This change will not affect the operations of DARB and Mawaqif, who will continue to operate a full range of services through their existing digital channels.

DARB, which will be operational from 2021, operates eight toll plazas on major bridges in Abu Dhabi with the aim of reducing congestion and improving the use of public transport.

Founded in 2009, Mawaqif offers structured parking solutions and seamlessly integrates with the DARB app for mobile payments.

Abdullah Al Marzooqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Center (Abu Dhabi Mobility) emphasized that the change is in line with its strategy to increase transport participation in Abu Dhabi and develop the sector.

Mansoor Almullah, Group CEO of investment and holding company subsidiary ADQ, said the new move supports Abu Dhabi’s vision of a smart and sustainable transport system that creates synergies that benefit passengers and the wider transport network.

By creating a cluster ecosystem, supporting portfolio companies and contributing to the diversification of the Abu Dhabi economy, ADQ aims to improve daily needs such as transportation, electricity, food, water and health.
