ADFD Launches First Live Radio Program on Sustainability in UAE
Abu Dhabi [UAE], September 22: Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has launched the first live radio program on sustainability in the UAE, titled “Sustainability Awareness”. 2024 is the “Year of Sustainability”.
The program aims to raise awareness of environmental, social and economic sustainability issues and highlights the UAE’s strong track record of quality sustainable practices.
The project highlights the efforts of national institutions and their active role in developing strategic partnerships with countries around the world. All.
Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, said, “We are delighted to launch the first live radio program on sustainability in the UAE, in line with the fund’s strategic objectives of safeguarding its development heritage. Creating a prosperous and sustainable future for generations to come.
He said the “Sustainability Awareness” program aims to develop the local community’s understanding of sustainable concepts and needs, while highlighting the UAE’s heritage in the field.
“The academic program aims to present best practices, quality initiatives and development projects that support the Sustainable Development Goals, enriching Arab studies and research, with relevant information on sustainability.”
The show will be aired on Radio Noor Dubai and will continue for 13 episodes.
Each chapter will cover various topics related to sustainability through stimulating dialogues and constructive discussions with authorities, experts and speakers. The program also includes various cultural competitions related to sustainability, along with valuable prizes awarded by the fund.
Through the programme, discussions will cover sustainability across sectors, ADFD’s developmental legacy and its sustainable impact on social prosperity.
It will also address the role of national industries in supporting UAE export promotion policies and diversifying the local economy.
The project will focus on the success of COP28 in balancing the needs of development and climate action, and the historic United Arab Emirates Consensus Decision by rethinking global practices to mitigate the effects of climate change and transition to clean energy.
