Abu Dhabi to Host Prestigious World Arabian Horse Organisation Meeting
Global gathering to celebrate and shape the future of purebred Arabian horses
ABU DHABI, 5 April 2025 – Abu Dhabi is set to welcome the General Assembly of the World Arabian Horse Organisation (WAHO) on Sunday, bringing together a distinguished group of equestrian experts, breeders, and delegates from around the globe. The event is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS).
The gathering is also receiving continued support and guidance from Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of EAHS.
The high-profile meeting will take place at the St. Regis Saadiyat Resort in Abu Dhabi, with 268 members representing 62 countries expected to participate.This week-long event promises a lively itinerary packed with lectures, conferences, and in-depth discussions centered on the global preservation, promotion, and regulation of purebred Arabian horses.
Celebrating Arab Heritage
In addition to the main sessions, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural and equestrian activities, such as guided tours of leading UAE horse studs, stables, and Arabian horse clubs. These excursions aim to highlight the UAE’s long-standing heritage and leadership in Arabian horse breeding and preservation.
WAHO, the world’s leading authority on Arabian horse standards, is responsible for coordinating registration procedures, safeguarding the integrity of the studbook and ensuring the authenticity of purebred Arabian horses. The group is dedicated to preserving the heritage and uniqueness of these magnificent animals and recognising their global value.
The General Assembly in Abu Dhabi is a major event for the international Arabian horse community, underscoring the UAE’s position as a global centre for equestrian excellence and cultural heritage.
