Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority mandates closure of Spot Karak Cafeteria after repeated health violations

Abu Dhabi Cafeteria Ordered Closed Due to Insect Infestation in Food Preparation Area

A cafeteria in Abu Dhabi has been ordered to close after insects were discovered in the food preparation area, as reported by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA). The Spot Karak Cafeteria faced closure due to its violation of health and safety regulations, which ADAFSA highlighted on its Instagram page.

ADAFSA emphasized a “repetition of high-risk violations” at the cafeteria, leading to the closure decision. The authority stated that the establishment failed to meet food safety requirements, particularly concerning the repeated occurrence of high-risk violations directly impacting food safety, such as the presence of insects in the food preparation area.

In its statement, ADAFSA outlined the conditions for the cafeteria to resume operations. The establishment must rectify its situation by addressing all identified violations, fulfilling all necessary requirements for practicing the activity, and eliminating the causes of the violation to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

This closure underscores the importance of stringent adherence to food safety regulations in food establishments to safeguard public health and well-being. ADAFSA’s proactive measures aim to maintain high standards of food safety across Abu Dhabi, ensuring that consumers can trust the quality and hygiene of the food they consume.
