RIYADH: The second edition of the Saudi Food Show kicked off on Tuesday, promising to be a feast for food enthusiasts and industry players alike. Running until May 23, this event, deemed the Kingdom’s largest for food and beverage sourcing, is drawing attention from around the globe as it showcases some of the world’s leading companies and their culinary creations. Sponsored by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in collaboration with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), the Saudi Food Show serves as a vibrant marketplace where innovation meets tradition.
With approximately 1,000 exhibitors representing 97 countries, the Saudi Food Show is a melting pot of flavors, cultures, and cuisines. From artisanal delights to gourmet specialties, visitors can explore an impressive array of 100,000 products that span the culinary spectrum. Moreover, this year’s event features the highly anticipated Top Table Saudi and YouthX Saudi competitions, providing a platform for culinary talent to shine and creativity to flourish.
Among the standout exhibitors is House of Pops, a purveyor of vegan and plant-based frozen treats. Their participation in the Saudi Food Show marks their foray into the lucrative Saudi market, following their success in the UAE. Marcela Sancho, co-founder of House of Pops, underscores the growing demand for healthier alternatives, especially in light of recent global health concerns. Their range of all-natural, preservative-free creations, crafted from premium ingredients, reflects their commitment to wellness and sustainability.

Meanwhile, Bakarman Foods, a leading supplier to restaurants and theaters across multiple continents, is optimistic about Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning food scene. With plans to establish a local presence in the Kingdom, Mohammad Salim, Bakarman Foods’ procurement and supply chain director, lauds Saudi Arabia’s rigorous food safety standards and business-friendly environment. From India, Bharat Industrial Enterprise Private Ltd., a renowned exporter of basmati rice, returns to the Saudi Food Show to showcase their premium offerings.
