UAE President awards Zayed the Second Medal to President of Indigenous Women and Peoples Association of Chad

Awarded for her significant contribution to global climate initiatives and COP28 outcomes

UAE President Honors Oumarou Ibrahim with Zayed the Second Medal

H.E. Oumarou Ibrahim, President of the Chadian Indigenous Women and Peoples Association, received the second medal from UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in appreciation of her important role in the 28th Conference’s success.
The United Arab Emirates Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), held in the UAE last year.

H.E. Rashid Saeed Al Shamsi, Ambassador of the UAE to the Republic of Chad, presented the medal to H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the award.

H.E. Oumarou Ibrahim commended the historic UAE consensus reached at COP28, which has become an important reference framework for global climate action and sustainability.

For his part, H.E. Al Shamsi congratulated H.E. Oumarou Ibrahim praised the award and Chad’s participation in COP28, as well as its support for the historic UAE consensus that fosters coordination and cooperation to protect humanity and the planet.
