When does Ramadan 2025 start in the UAE?

The start date hinges on the official moon sighting

Dubai: With just four months left for the holy month of fasting, the countdown to Ramadan has officially begun.

The crescent moon marking the start of Jumada Al Awwal, the fifth month of the Islamic calendar, will be visible on November 3, 2024, which will help predict the dates of Ramadan, the Emirates Astronomical Society announced.

The crescent moon, which is expected to appear shortly after sunset, plays an important role in predicting the start of Ramadan.

According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, president of the Emirates Astronomical Society, Ramadan will most likely begin on March 1, 2025.

However, the exact time depends on the final moon sighting, traditionally conducted by the moon viewing team.
