Prime Minister’s Official Visit Highlights Growing Economic Partnership and Non-Oil Trade Expansion

Vietnam PM Pham Minh Chinh Arrives in Abu Dhabi to Strengthen UAE Ties
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam arrived in Abu Dhabi today for an official visit, highlighting the strong ties between Vietnam and the UAE. He was warmly received by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, along with Dr. Bader Abdullah Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Vietnam, and other UAE officials.
The visit reflects both countries’ commitment to strengthening economic and political relations. Over recent years, Vietnam has become the UAE’s largest non-oil trade partner in the ASEAN region, underscoring the growth and significance of their trade ties.
Non-oil bilateral trade between the two nations reached $6.1 billion in the first half of 2024, showing a 9% increase from 2023 and a 34% rise from 2022. This steady growth highlights the strong economic partnership and mutual benefits of closer cooperation.
During his visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to engage in discussions on trade, investment, and regional security. The UAE, as a trade hub, and Vietnam, with its expanding economy, are well-positioned to deepen collaboration in diverse sectors beyond oil.
