UAE Leads Global Fight Against Polio with Key Achievements and Humanitarian Aid
Dubai [UAE]: The UAE has made major strides in the worldwide eradication of polio, according to Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention. Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, served as the chair.
In order to satisfy the dreams of millions of children and their families for a healthy and respectable life, Al Owais underlined that the humanitarian efforts started by the president of the United Arab Emirates have been crucial in bolstering international efforts to eradicate polio.
In a statement to mark World Polio Day on October 24, Al Owais said, “The UAE is proud of its important role in eradicating polio. Our humanitarian initiatives have reached millions of children worldwide, helping to significantly reduce infection rates.
He also emphasized the UAE’s dedication to this humanitarian cause, which is demonstrated by its consistent and successful assistance to global organizations that conduct extensive immunization campaigns in the most vulnerable regions.
The Minister also expressed gratitude for the UAE President’s recent decision to donate US$5 million to Gaza’s emergency polio vaccination program, pointing out that it demonstrates the UAE’s continued commitment to international humanitarian concerns.
Using the latest international health standards, he stressed, the UAE will continue its national polio immunization efforts and ensure extensive vaccine coverage to protect the population.
Al Owais went on to say that the ministry’s commitment to these initiatives aligns with its strategic vision, which aims to increase research on infectious diseases, build an integrated healthcare system for future generations, and firmly establish the UAE as a global leader in health and quality of life.
