UAE Urges Flexibility in Private Sector Work Due to Day 3 of Heavy Rains
MoHRE Calls for Flexible Work Patterns, Emphasizes Employee Safety

UAE Urges Private Sector Work Flexibility Amid Weather Challenges
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has issued a comprehensive directive aimed at the private sector within the United Arab Emirates (UAE), urging employers to implement flexible work patterns for their employees in response to the adverse effects of the ongoing unstable weather conditions prevailing across the country. This directive comes as a proactive measure to address the challenges posed by the unpredictable weather, ensuring the safety and well-being of workers.
In an official statement, the MoHRE reiterated the critical importance of taking precautionary measures, particularly in outdoor work environments where suspending operations may be difficult. Employers are strongly encouraged to prioritize the health and safety of their workforce during their commute to and from work sites, emphasizing the need for strict adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
The ministry’s directive builds upon previous announcements aimed at easing the burden on outdoor workers, highlighting the responsibility of employers to safeguard the physical and mental well-being of employees throughout their work-related activities. This includes providing adequate protection during transportation and ensuring that occupational health and safety standards are met at all times.
Additionally, the UAE government has taken proactive steps to address the impact of adverse weather conditions on public sector employees. Remote work arrangements have been facilitated for all eligible personnel on specific dates, with the exception of those whose job roles require their physical presence in the workplace. This approach reflects a balanced strategy aimed at minimizing disruptions to government operations while prioritizing the safety and welfare of employees.
These directives underscore the government’s commitment to proactive risk management and employee welfare, especially during challenging times. By promoting flexible work arrangements and enforcing stringent safety protocols, both public and private sectors are working collaboratively to mitigate the adverse effects of unstable weather conditions and ensure operational continuity across various industries in the UAE.
