UAE sends pro-Khalistani terrorist Tarsem Singh back to India
NIA Secures Major Victory in Fight Against Khalistani Terror Networks with Extradition of Key Operative

UAE Extradites Pro-Khalistan Terrorist Tarsem Singh to India
On Friday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) marked a significant milestone in its fight against pro-Khalistan terrorism by securing the extradition of Tarsem Singh from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India. Tarsem Singh, a key associate of notorious terrorists Harwinder Sandhu (Rinda) and Lakhbir Singh (Landa), has long been a priority target for Indian authorities. His extradition represents a major victory for Indian security agencies in their efforts to dismantle Khalistani terror networks operating from abroad.
Background on Tarsem Singh’s Arrest
Tarsem Singh, a native of Tarn Taran in Punjab, became a wanted individual in June 2023 when the NIA issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) for his arrest. His capture followed his detention in Abu Dhabi in November 2023, prompted by the NBW and a Red Corner Notice issued by INTERPOL. This case illustrates the importance of international cooperation in countering global terrorist threats.
Role in Terror Networks
Not just an ordinary operative, Tarsem Singh is the brother of Lakhbir Singh Landa, a designated terrorist, and a prominent member of the Babbar Khalistan International (BKI) terrorist organization. In his role within BKI, he served as a crucial link in the terror networks operated by Rinda and Landa, particularly in the UAE. His responsibilities included arranging and providing terror funds to their associates in India. The NIA’s investigation revealed that he played an integral role in channeling these funds through various routes, supporting terrorist activities in India.
Ongoing Investigations and Future Implications
The case against Tarsem Singh is part of a broader NIA investigation initiated suo moto on August 20, 2022. This investigation targets the terror activities of leaders and members of proscribed organizations like the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), BKI, and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). These organizations have built a complex network of operatives across India, often collaborating with organized criminal gangs to smuggle arms, ammunition, explosives, and IEDs into the country.
Additionally, these terror outfits engage in illegal activities such as narcotics trafficking, extortion, and hawala trading to finance their operations. The NIA’s efforts have been crucial in exposing these networks and bringing key figures like Tarsem Singh to justice. His extradition is expected to provide critical insights into the workings of these terror networks and help dismantle their operations further.
Tarsem Singh’s extradition is a significant success for the NIA and Indian security agencies in their ongoing pursuit of pro-Khalistan terrorists. It underscores the importance of international collaboration in combating terrorism and highlights the persistent threat posed by these networks. The NIA’s relentless efforts in this area are vital for national security, ensuring that those involved in supporting and perpetrating terrorism are held accountable.
