UAE Minister Emphasizes Stronger India-UAE Economic Ties at Kerala Summit

Kochi: Kochi: During the Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS), UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri emphasized the close economic links between India and the UAE. He noted that the UAE’s partnership with India has grown significantly, making India its second-largest trading partner.
Speaking at the event, Al Marri stressed the UAE’s interest in collaborating with Kerala in key sectors such as food processing, tourism, technology, healthcare, and space. He praised Kerala’s skilled workforce, strong education system, and innovation ecosystem, calling it a hub of talent.
Global Interest in Kerala’s Growth
Bahrain’s Commerce and Industry Minister, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, has indicated a desire to deepen relations with Kerala, emphasizing semiconductors, food security, tourism, and hospitality.
The chairman of the Lulu Group, M A Yusuff Ali, highlighted Kerala’s investment potential by highlighting prospects in the fields of information technology, robotics, medical devices, artificial intelligence, defense equipment, and health tourism. He added that the state is encouraging international universities in an attempt to establish itself as a center of education.
Kerala’s Investment Potential
The two-day summit, hosted by the Government of Kerala, is a platform for international collaboration, drawing attention to Kerala’s new Industrial Policy and its 22 priority sectors. Discussions are focusing on AI, aerospace, logistics, biotech, renewable energy, food tech, and waste management.
The event reflects Kerala’s growing appeal as a global investment destination, with the UAE and Bahrain showing strong interest in expanding economic ties with the state.
