UAE Innovates 2025 Showcases the Nation’s Top 10 Transformative Innovations
Dubai [UAE], February 26: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) successfully hosted the UAE Innovates exhibition at Emirates Towers Boulevard in Dubai as part of UAE Innovates 2025, an initiative that spanned the entire month of February. The purpose of this event was to showcase innovative government initiatives that have had a significant influence on the nation and its citizens.
Each of the ten outstanding inventions on display marked a substantial breakthrough in a different field. An immersive interactive mirror maze was one of the most notable attractions. It represented the intricate process of turning creative concepts into reality.
The Director of MBRCGI, Abeer Tahlak, emphasized the UAE government’s dedication to encouraging an innovative culture throughout its many organizations. She said, “The UAE government continues to take bold steps in encouraging innovation, creating an environment that facilitates the development of solutions, tools, and projects aimed at serving society.” She added that in line with the country’s goal of making the UAE a global center for innovation, the UAE Innovates exhibition honors leading innovators who are reshaping the future through game-changing strategies in addition to bringing attention to the importance of innovation in governance.
The exhibition featured pioneering innovations from ten federal and local government entities, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Interior, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, Emirates Health Services, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Airports, Dubai Municipality, and the Fujairah Environment Authority.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment’s Plant the Emirates National Programme, which encourages farmers to use smart technologies to boost regional agricultural output, was one of the noteworthy initiatives. In order to demonstrate the importance of innovation in sustainable farming, visitors looked at case studies and tasted locally grown fruit.
The Ministry of Economy launched the National Digital Platform for Monitoring Essential Commodity Prices, which tracks the prices of essential consumer staples such cooking oil, rice, wheat, and dairy products in real time. By ensuring adherence to price policies, this program enables policymakers to preserve economic stability.
The Digital Twin, a system created by Emirates Health Services to maximize hospital operations through data-driven insights, was introduced. This invention increases emergency response, optimizes patient flow, and boosts overall healthcare effectiveness.
The Ministry of Interior demonstrated the Smart Examiner, an AI-powered car that can do driving exams on its own thanks to sensors, GPS, and facial recognition technologies.
This innovation significantly reduces the licensing process, enabling a one-day driving test service that replaces traditional methods spanning several months.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security introduced the world’s first Smart and Fast Travel System, which leverages facial recognition technology to facilitate seamless air travel. With over 4.7 million travelers benefiting from this system in 2024, the solution has reduced smart gate processing time to an impressive 8.7 seconds.
Dubai Civil Aviation Authority presented its Drone Delivery System, a forward-thinking initiative supporting Dubai’s smart transport vision. This system aligns with multiple city-wide programs, including the Dubai Robotics and Automation Program, and is projected to handle one-third of all deliveries by 2030.
Dubai’s RTA introduced LiDAR Technology for Road Assessment, a system using LiDAR scanning and digital imaging to monitor road conditions. This technology enhances the accuracy and efficiency of road assessments, ensuring the long-term sustainability of Dubai’s transport infrastructure.
Dubai Airports developed a Smart Aircraft Diversion Monitoring System, which incorporates AI and real-time cameras to optimize aircraft operations, improve turnaround times, and minimize delays. This system enhances coordination between airlines, airports, and ground staff, leading to cost reductions and improved efficiency.
Dubai Municipality unveiled Building X, a system that collects and analyzes real-time data on building energy consumption. This initiative promotes sustainability by optimizing energy use and reducing operational costs through predictive maintenance solutions.
The Fujairah Environment Authority introduced a Smart Water Resource Mapping System, designed to monitor and manage water resources while mitigating flood risks. This initiative is crucial in addressing climate challenges and preventing groundwater overuse.
UAE Innovates 2025 was held under the theme “The Power of Innovation 10 – Where Does Your Strength Lie?” As a nationwide initiative, UAE Innovates has played a pivotal role in fostering groundbreaking ideas, driving transformative projects, and improving overall quality of life over the past decade. This year’s edition aligns with the Year of Community, reinforcing the UAE’s dedication to placing people at the core of its progress and innovation-driven future.
