UAE heats up with temperatures near 50°C and dusty winds

Hot, humid weather with dusty winds and reduced visibility hits UAE

UAE Braces for Scorching Heat and Dusty Conditions as Temperatures Near 50°C

The UAE is experiencing strong summer weather today, with the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) predicting hot and humid conditions throughout the country. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach over 50°C, causing discomfort and raising health concerns about outdoor exposure.

According to the NCM, skies remain largely clear and sunny, but some eastern regions are seeing occasional cloud cover. The highest temperature recorded yesterday was a blistering 46.6°C in Tawiyen, Fujairah at 1:30 PM, with several other areas reporting highs between 40°C and 45°C.

Strong winds are creating a dusty environment, which adds to the heat. Wind speeds range from 15 to 25 km/h, but can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h. These winds reduce visibility, especially in cloudy areas, posing a risk to motorists and those working outdoors. Drivers are advised to be vigilant as sudden dust storms can block road visibility without warning.

Humidity is another issue today, with levels likely to reach 70%, making the air humid and unpleasant. People with respiratory sensitivities or dust allergies should limit their outdoor activities and use protective clothing as needed.

In terms of maritime conditions, the Arabian Gulf is forecast to feature modest to moderate waves, while the Oman Sea will remain calm. Before coming out on the beach or on the water, beachgoers and boaters should check for local updates.

Residents are reminded to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take all essential precautions to deal with the extreme summer weather.
