External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar Inaugurates Symbiosis Dubai Campus, Showcases India’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ Vision

An important turning point in India’s attempts to internationalize its educational system was reached when External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar opened the Symbiosis International University campus in Dubai. He highlighted India’s goal of becoming a developed country, known as “Viksit Bharat,” during the ceremony and the UAE’s vital role as a partner and supporter in realizing this goal.

Increasing India-UAE Cooperation
Jaishankar acknowledged the UAE as one of India’s top well-wishers and conveyed his gratitude for their steadfast relationship. He highlighted how the close ties between the two nations extend beyond economic collaboration to fostering mutual understanding and friendship.

“We are clearly embarked on the journey toward a Viksit Bharat. This endeavour requires the support of well-wishers and partners, among whom the UAE stands foremost. Students at this campus are not just receiving an education; they are also gaining exposure to a unique friendship and cultural exchange that will empower them to navigate the world and further India’s national interests,” Jaishankar remarked.

Symbiosis: Connecting Global Opportunities with Education
Speaking with Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Jaishankar expressed his belief that the new campus would improve India-UAE cooperation. He reaffirmed that education is a shared endeavor to build a nation’s human capital and character rather than just an individual one.

“The caliber of a society’s human resources determines its strength. Students will make a substantial contribution to the advancement of the country and the world by taking advantage of the chances provided by Symbiosis International University,” he stated.

Preparing for the Future: AI, Technology and Globalization
Jaishankar emphasized the importance of preparing India’s youth for the challenges of a rapidly evolving global workplace. He highlighted key industries shaping the future such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, electric mobility, renewable energy and space technologies.

“India today needs to prepare for the global workplace and the era of advanced technologies. Education must be employment-centric and market-viable while enabling the nation to communicate its modern vision effectively. These emerging opportunities need to be harnessed to ensure both individual growth and collective national progress,” he explained.

Developing Upcoming Generations
Speaking to the students, Jaishankar recognized their potential as future leaders and representatives of India’s goals. Stressing the value of community awareness and patriotism, he advised students to embrace the spirit of competition and teamwork that Symbiosis International University fosters.

“Your dedication to greatness extends beyond personal aspirations. It is a component of a broader spirit of unity that helps to define a country’s identity. You will be equipped to lead and manage a world that is changing quickly thanks to the education you receive here,” he continued.

Jaishankar concluded by reaffirming India’s focus on creating a workforce ready for both domestic challenges and international opportunities, with the UAE serving as a key partner in achieving this vision.
