UAE exempts Residency and Visa Fines for Sudanese Nationals
Humanitarian Gesture by UAE Allows Sudanese Nationals to Regularize Status Without Fines

UAE Grants Exemption on Residency and Visa Fines for Sudanese Nationals
DUBAI, May 13 — The UAE government has declared that Sudanese nationals will no longer be required to pay any unpaid residency or immigration penalties as a humanitarian gesture. The decision, which comes into effect from May 19, highlights the UAE’s humanitarian stance and is part of its ongoing commitment to assisting countries in need.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security said that the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to providing assistance to countries in need, with particular focus on Sudan during its current challenges. The exemption will remain in effect until the end of 2025, providing Sudanese nationals with the opportunity to regularize their immigration status without the burden of previous penalties.
Residents of Sudan with unpaid fines can now use the UAE’s Identity, Citizenship and Port Security (ICP) official digital portals to update their status and apply for renewal. This policy provides vital assistance to those affected by the current situation by ensuring that these applications are not subject to penalties.
