UAE, Egypt Presidents Discuss Regional Peace, Bilateral Cooperation
Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi discussed bilateral relations and regional issues.
The talks, which took place during Sisi’s visit to the UAE on Thursday, focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of development, economy and investment, aiming to align with the shared aspirations of the two countries for progress and prosperity, Xinhua News Agency reported, citing the UAE’s official news agency WAM.
The two presidents praised the announcement of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on regional concerns.
They emphasized how crucial it is to make sure the region receives enough humanitarian aid.
President El-Sisi and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also discussed a number of regional and global problems that both parties find important, especially the significant events in the Middle East, during their meeting.
The two leaders acknowledged that the solution is the way to enduring, all-encompassing peace and stability in the area and reiterated the necessity of ongoing efforts to put it into practice.
Mohammed commended Egypt’s involvement in facilitating the ceasefire accord in Gaza and aiding the Palestinian people during the negotiations.
The United States, Qatar, and Egypt mediated the ceasefire deal over weeks of negotiations in Doha.
Women, children, the elderly, and those who are ill or injured are given priority in the initial release. The two leaders also praised Joseph Aoun’s election as Lebanon’s president and said they were certain he would bring stability to the country.
Regarding developments in Syria, the two presidents reaffirmed their shared commitment to the unity, stability, and sovereignty of the country, calling for an inclusive political process that engages all sectors of Syrian society.
