UAE and Ecuador Presidents Pledge Deeper Ties During Abu Dhabi Talks
ABU DHABI / LONDON — UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa met in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, signaling a deepening relationship between the Gulf nation and Latin America.
President Noboa reiterated Ecuador’s enthusiasm for developing cooperation with the UAE following his recent re-election, and the leaders’ discussions highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening diplomatic and commercial ties.
Broad-ranging cooperation agenda
The two leaders discussed a range of key topics, including trade, renewable energy, sustainability, investment, tourism and agriculture, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM). Throughout the discussions, there was a clear desire to align development goals and create new economic opportunities. Both sides stressed the importance of leveraging these industries to promote economic diversification and mutual growth. They also discussed important regional and international issues, highlighting the need for cooperation to maintain peace, stability and long-term prosperity.

In addition to expressing a clear determination to increase economic involvement with the region, President Sheikh Mohamed underlined that the UAE sees Ecuador as a key partner in Latin America.
