UAE Deputy PM to Visit Pakistan on April 20 to Boost Bilateral Relations
Two-Day Visit Aims to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation in Trade, Investment, and Infrastructure Development

UAE Deputy Prime Minister to Begin Two-Day Official Visit to Pakistan from April 20 to Deepen Strategic Partnership
ISLAMABAD – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Pakistan starting April 20, with the goal of further strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors, according to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan.
The visit demonstrates the strategic and long-term nature of UAE-Pakistan relations, based on strong personal ties, diplomatic trust and shared economic interests. The UAE remains Pakistan’s third largest trading partner after the US and China. Over the past 20 years, the UAE has invested more than $10 billion in Pakistan.
The UAE is home to more than a million Pakistani expatriates, making it the second largest Pakistani diaspora in the world. The Emirates is a key source of remittances that support Pakistan’s economy.
A renewed focus on economic cooperation has been indicated by recent diplomatic meetings. During the visit of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in February this year, the two countries signed agreements on key industries such as infrastructure, banking, mining and railways. Additional agreements totaling more than $3 billion were signed in January 2024, aimed at strengthening cooperation on large-scale development projects, special economic zones, and railways.
Pakistan sees the UAE as a key export market, thanks to its close geographic proximity and robust trade potential. The upcoming visit is expected to build on this foundation and open new avenues for collaboration in investment, trade, and regional connectivity.
