UAE Residents Feel Mild Tremors as 3.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Oman Sea

Muscat: An earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Oman Sea on Sunday, August 18.

In a post on social media, the UAE’s National Seismic Network (NSN) of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported an earthquake off the coast of Dibba at 12:14 pm UAE time (1:44 pm IST).

Residents of the UAE felt the tremors at a depth of five kilometers. The NCM added that there was no effect of earthquakes in the UAE.

On May 29, two small earthquakes occurred in the Sea of ​​Oman, causing mild tremors among residents of the UAE. A magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Ras al-Khaimah at 12:12 a.m., followed by a magnitude 2.8 earthquake in the same area at 1:53 a.m.
