Flydubai Launches New Direct Flights to Kish Island and Kerman from September

Flydubai Expands Network with New Direct Flights to Kish Island and Kerman
Flydubai has announced the launch of direct flights to two new destinations in Iran, expanding its network and offering travelers more options for exploring this dynamic region. Beginning September 7, Flydubai will commence a four-times-weekly service to Kish Island, a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant shopping scene. This service will be followed by the introduction of a twice-weekly flight to Kerman, starting September 9. Both routes will be serviced from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), ensuring seamless connectivity for passengers.
Flights to Kish International Airport (KIH) will operate four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This regular service is expected to cater to both leisure travelers and business visitors looking to explore the island’s unique attractions. Meanwhile, flights to Kerman International Airport (KER) will be available twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, providing convenient options for travelers heading to this historical city, which is known for its rich cultural heritage and ancient architecture.
In a strategic move to enhance connectivity, Emirates will codeshare on these new routes, allowing passengers greater flexibility and more choices to connect through Dubai’s major aviation hub. This partnership will facilitate smoother travel and better integration into Flydubai’s extensive network.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at Flydubai, emphasized the airline’s commitment to expanding access to under-served markets. He commented, “We have continued to look for opportunities to open up under-served markets, and we are pleased to offer our customers more convenient options for travel to Iran. Flydubai is dedicated to creating free flows of trade and tourism, and with Kerman and Kish Island as our newest destinations, we look forward to providing our passengers more opportunities to explore our extensive network.”
Flydubai, renowned for its focus on connecting under-served markets, currently operates flights to over 125 destinations worldwide. Of these, 90 are markets that previously did not have direct air links to Dubai, underscoring the airline’s role in bridging gaps in global connectivity. In addition to the new Iranian routes, Flydubai also commenced daily services today to Islamabad and Lahore in Pakistan, further enhancing its regional network.
Looking ahead, Flydubai is set to continue its expansion efforts with several new destinations on the horizon. Later this year, the airline will introduce flights to Basel in Switzerland, starting August 2. This will be followed by the addition of Riga in Latvia from October 11. Flydubai will also commence services to Tallinn in Estonia and Vilnius in Lithuania from October 12, reflecting its ongoing commitment to broadening its network and offering passengers even more travel options.
Overall, Flydubai’s new routes to Kish Island and Kerman, along with its planned expansions, highlight the airline’s dedication to enhancing connectivity and providing travelers with a diverse range of destinations to explore.
