UAE: Zayed Grand Camel Race 2024 Begins in Al Wathba

Zayed Grand Camel Race 2024 Kicks Off at Al Wathba Camel Racetrack in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi [United Arab Emirates], November 25: On Monday, the renowned Al Wathba Camel Racetrack in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, formally opened the Zayed Grand Camel Race 2024, which is being hosted under the distinguished patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The prestigious annual event, a cornerstone of Emirati history and heritage, was attended by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Camel Racing Federation and Advisor to the President of the UAE. A large number of camel breeders, owners and enthusiasts from the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries attended, demonstrating the long-standing importance of camel racing in the region.
Thirteen rounds of heritage races were held on the first day, demonstrating the extraordinary training and abilities of camels bred for this age-old sport. The UAE Camel Racing Federation’s Director, Abdulla Mubarak Al Muhairi, honored the winners of these competitive rounds and acknowledged their hard work and accomplishments.
With thousands of camel owners from the UAE and other GCC countries scheduled to compete, the Zayed Grand Prix Camel Race is one of the biggest and most anticipated events on the camel racing calendar. The event not only honors local cultural traditions but also fosters a sense of pride and unity among participants and spectators.
