UAE Attorney-General engages in bilateral talks with BRICS counterparts
Emirates strengthens legal ties with BRICS for stronger prosecution and judicial cooperation.

UAE Attorney-General Strengthens Judicial Ties at BRICS Summit 2024
Chancellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney-General, visited St. Petersburg, Russia, to participate in the BRICS Summit 2024, engaging in high-level discussions with legal counterparts from BRICS and associated nations.
During his visit, Dr. Al Shamsi held bilateral meetings with key judicial figures, including Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor-General of Russia; Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) of China; K.M. Nataraj, Additional Solicitor-General of India; Mohamed Shawky Ayad, Prosecutor-General of Egypt; Tesfaye Daba Wakjira, Minister of State for Justice of Ethiopia; Mohammad Movahedi Azad, Prosecutor-General of Iran; and South Africa’s National Director of Public Prosecutions, Adv. Shamila Batohi.
The main focus of the talks was strengthening judicial and legal cooperation between the UAE and the BRICS countries. Al Shamsi underlined the significance of enhancing legal frameworks, exchanging experience, and bolstering public prosecution partnership in order to tackle international legal difficulties. In order to address shared concerns, the sessions reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to strengthening legal alliances and promoting international judicial collaboration.
