UAE: Abu Dhabi airport introduces new city check-in service for passengers

A new city check-in service has been inaugurated at Yas Mall on Yas Island, catering to travelers heading through Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. This exclusive check-in facility is designated for Etihad Airways and Air Arabia flights and is situated at the Fountains, which boasts a variety of dining options. Additionally, prominent attractions like Ferrari World Yas Island and Clymb Yas Island are in close proximity.

Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, the group CEO of Miral, expressed, “The revolutionary remote airport check-in at the Fountains at Yas Mall is a testament to our relentless efforts to position Yas Island as a global destination for leisure and entertainment while contributing to making Abu Dhabi a top tourism hub.”

Yas Island, known for its acclaimed theme parks such as Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World, and SeaWorld, along with diverse offerings like Yas Links, Yas Marina, and Yas Bay Waterfront.

Elena Sorlini, the managing director and CEO at Abu Dhabi Airports, emphasized their commitment to fortifying Abu Dhabi’s status as a global tourism and aviation hub. The innovative remote check-in aims to ensure a seamless and memorable travel experience.

This check-in service is the result of collaboration between Miral, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT – Abu Dhabi), Abu Dhabi Airports, and OACIS Middle East. This partnership follows the recent launch of the state-of-the-art Terminal A, capable of accommodating 45 million passengers annually.

Titten Yohannan, chairman and CEO of OACIS Middle East, expressed excitement about the collaboration’s potential in enhancing travel flexibility, safety, and peace of mind for passengers.

The check-in desk, located on the ground floor at the Fountains adjacent to Madcap Abu Dhabi, operates daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Charges for check-in are Dh35 per adult (passengers above 12 years), Dh25 per child (children aged 12 years and below), and Dh15 per infant (infants aged two years and below).
