UAE authorities have issued a strict advisory ahead of an impending severe weather event, urging residents to prioritize safety during the upcoming weekend. The directive strongly emphasizes the need for individuals to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, aligning with forecasts predicting adverse weather conditions.

Specifically addressing outdoor activities, authorities caution against allowing children to engage in play outside, citing potential risks associated with the anticipated severe weather. Residents are advised to exercise heightened awareness and avoid areas prone to flooding, such as rivers, valleys, dams, and coastal regions.

Precautionary measures extend to minimizing exposure to potential hazards, including billboards, falling trees, and airborne debris. Additionally, residents are reminded to secure their homes by ensuring that all windows, doors, and openings are properly closed to prevent any unforeseen incidents.

Motorists are not exempt from the advisory, with a strong recommendation to secure belongings and park vehicles in elevated, secure areas to mitigate potential damage from hailstones, which are expected during the storm. Caution is urged for those on the roads, given the anticipated poor visibility, water pooling, and high winds.

Colonel Hamad Abdullah Al Neyadi, Director of the Capital Police Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, reassures the public of the police force’s readiness to provide round-the-clock assistance. Their primary focus remains on ensuring the safety of residents and facilitating the orderly flow of traffic throughout the emirate during the challenging weather period ahead.
