UAE Honors Maulana Bashir Farooqi Qadri with Soft Diplomacy Award
Maulana Bashir Farooqi Qadri, founder and chairman of Zeilani Welfare International Trust, was honored with the Soft Diplomacy Award of the United Arab Emirates.
This recognition recognizes Maulana Bashir Farooqui’s extraordinary contribution in strengthening the relationship between the UAE and Pakistan.
The award was presented at the Pakistan Independence Day celebrations at the UAE Consulate General in Karachi.
Addressing the gathering, UAE Consul General in Karachi Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi highlighted the six decades of brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE and highlighted the crucial role played by Pakistanis in the development of the UAE.
He emphasized that the friendship between the two countries will last a lifetime. A special message from the Minister for Religious Harmony in the UAE was also presented at the event in conjunction with the Pakistan Independence Day celebrations.
Individuals from various fields including health, education, sports, journalism, climate change, aviation and culture were also felicitated for their contributions.
Meanwhile, the aim is to create 10 million right-skilled graduates capable of earning $1 billion annually to ease Pakistan’s economic woes, said the Zailani Trust chairman.
He was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Seilani School of Emerging Sciences and Skills in Naya Nazimabad area to produce trained graduates in IT and different technical trades for the international market.
Maulana Farooqui said Zailani Trust has contributed immensely to increase Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves by producing lakhs of graduates from its IT training program who earn in dollars through freelancing.
Speaking on the occasion, renowned businessman Arif Habib said that the construction of a 500-bed hospital in Naya Nazimabad is underway. He said that the foundation of the upcoming Education City project was laid in Naya Nazimabad. The project will soon include a college and a university.
