UAE and Jordan Strengthen Strategic Ties During High-Level Meeting in Abu Dhabi
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a significant meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, reinforcing the longstanding fraternal relations between the two nations. Their discussions focused on strengthening bilateral collaboration in a number of areas to ensure prosperity and growth for both parties.
A Meeting of Brotherhood and Cooperation
The high-profile talks were held at Qasr Al Bateen in Abu Dhabi, where King Abdullah was cordially received by President Sheikh Mohamed, who emphasized the long-standing and significant ties between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. The discussions included important regional developments in addition to bilateral issues. The leaders specifically addressed the current situation in Gaza, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire, guaranteeing the uninterrupted supply of humanitarian supplies, and vehemently opposing any efforts to uproot Palestinian communities by force.
Both leaders emphasized the need for increased diplomatic efforts to stop conflict escalation and promote regional stability, acknowledging the unstable state of affairs in the area. In addition to other distinguished sheikhs, ministers, and high-ranking UAE officials, the meeting was attended by a number of senior UAE dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region; His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; and His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister.
His Majesty King Abdullah II was accompanied by a high-level Jordanian delegation, including Dr. Jafar Hassan, Prime Minister of Jordan; Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates; and other senior Jordanian officials.
Departure and Farewell
His Majesty King Abdullah II departed Al Bateen Airport when his visit was over. Strong bilateral ties between the UAE and Jordan were further demonstrated as President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, accompanied by important UAE leaders, said him farewell with love and respect.
