Adnoc Gas Awards $550 Million Contracts to Enhance UAE Gas Infrastructure
Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Contracts Awarded to Enhance Natural Gas Pipeline Network

Adnoc Gas Expands UAE Gas Infrastructure
Introduction to the Estidama Project
Adnoc Gas PLC has launched the “Estidama Project,” which aims to enhance the UAE’s gas infrastructure. This initiative focuses on upgrading the sales gas pipeline network, vital for meeting the growing energy demands of the UAE’s residential and industrial sectors.
Contract Awards and Economic Impact
Adnoc Gas recently awarded engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts worth $550 million (approximately Dh2 billion). The contracts were given to NMDC Energy P.J.S.C and Galfar Engineering & Contracting W.L.L Emirates. This expansion will increase the natural gas pipeline network from about 3,200 kilometers to over 3,500 kilometers. It will facilitate the transportation of larger volumes of natural gas to customers in the northern Emirates.
Support for the Local Economy
The Estidama Project will significantly impact the local economy. Approximately 70% of the contract value is expected to benefit the UAE economy through Adnoc’s In-Country Value (ICV) program. This program aims to stimulate local businesses and promote economic diversification. By prioritizing local suppliers, Adnoc is enhancing the domestic economy while executing this major infrastructure project.
Ownership Transfer and Operational Efficiency
Adnoc has taken ownership of the Estidama Project from Adnoc Gas. This transfer improves operational efficiency. Adnoc will manage capital expenditures for the project, allowing Adnoc Gas to focus on its core competencies. However, Adnoc Gas will continue to oversee Estidama, utilizing its expertise in construction and pipeline operations.
Leadership Insights
Dr. Ahmed Alebri, CEO of Adnoc Gas, emphasized the project’s importance. He stated, “This award supports the ongoing expansion of the UAE’s gas pipeline network, which will bring lower-cost and sustainable natural gas to more locations across the country.” His remarks highlight Adnoc Gas’s commitment to meet current energy demands and ensure future energy security.
Environmental and Future Considerations
The Estidama Project also supports the UAE’s environmental goals. By enhancing natural gas infrastructure, which is a cleaner alternative to other fossil fuels, the project contributes to reducing the country’s carbon footprint. As the UAE diversifies its energy sources, projects like Estidama are crucial for a sustainable future.
The Estidama Project by Adnoc Gas marks a significant step in enhancing the UAE’s gas infrastructure. By expanding the pipeline network and supporting the local economy through substantial contract allocations, Adnoc reinforces its commitment to energy security. As the project progresses, it will enhance operational capabilities and provide long-term benefits for the UAE’s energy sector.
