UAE plotted Sambhal riots, says chargesheet

79 Accused Named as SIT Uncovers Foreign Funding and Political Links

UP Police Chargesheet Links Sambhal Riots to UAE-Based Mastermind

Over 4,400 Pages of Evidence Submitted, Names 79 Accused

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Uttar Pradesh Police has submitted comprehensive chargesheets in six instances pertaining to the violence that occurred in Sambhal on November 24. These chargesheets contain important information concerning the riots’ organizers and participants. A major development in the case occurred Thursday when officials delivered more than 4,400 pages of evidence to Chief Judicial Magistrate Archana Singh’s court.

UAE-Based Shariq Satha Identified as the Key Conspirator

According to the SIT’s findings, Shariq Satha, a native of Sambhal who is currently believed to be in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was the primary mastermind behind the riots. Five people were killed and numerous more were injured as a result of the violence. Foreign money transfers connected to Satha were discovered by investigators. These transfers were made to several account holders in Sambhal, indicating that the disturbances were intentionally funded.

Criminal Background and International Links

Satha has a long criminal past; he was the head of a car theft gang that stole more than 300 cars from Delhi-NCR. Authorities also disclosed his ties to Pakistan’s ISI intelligence agency and Dawood Ibrahim’s network. Using a forged passport, he allegedly left India and has been conducting business overseas ever since.

79 Accused Named, Political Connections Under Scrutiny

The chargesheets list 79 defendants, all of whom are presently being held by the courts. Investigations into the violence are still ongoing, and Sambhal SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi revealed that Satha’s gang members were actively participating.
Officials hinted at Satha’s political influence in Sambhal and nearby regions, with authorities examining the role of Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq and Suhail Iqbal, the son of local MLA Iqbal Mahmood. While they have been named in an FIR, their involvement is still under investigation, and a supplementary chargesheet will be filed later.

Evidence of Foreign-Made Weapons and External Involvement

Cartridges and bullets made in the US and Pakistan were found by the SIT during its investigation, which further suggests that outside forces may have been involved in the disturbances. One of the 12 FIRs that police have filed in connection with the rioting was filed by an injured victim who claimed that there were suspects of Turkic descent there.

While 37 accused individuals, including government officials, have been named directly, 3,750 anonymous people have also been linked to the case. The SIT is looking for other financial transactions and global connections as they continue their investigation into the violence.

It is anticipated that law enforcement agencies will step up their attempts to find Satha and other important players in the Sambhal riots investigation, as this information reveals a well-planned operation with worldwide connections.
