UAE Launches “Stand with Lebanon” Campaign, Sending 200 Tons of Aid Amid Crisis

Launched today, the nationwide initiative “UAE Stands with Lebanon” sent 200 tons of help, assembled from 10,000 care packages made by 4,000 volunteers. The UAE is continuously working to aid the Lebanese people and end the humanitarian crisis, and this initiative is part of that effort.

The chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, paid a visit to the relief aid collection facility at Expo City Dubai today as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign.

The nationwide effort, which was started in solidarity with the Lebanese citizens impacted by the current crisis, is to gather donations from the general public in cooperation with nonprofit and humanitarian groups.

The initiative was launched under the guidance of Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Court, Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the supervision of Deputy President Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. President of the Presidential Court on Development and Veterans Affairs and President of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

During the visit, Mansoor bin Mohammed, together with Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, was briefed on the efforts of volunteers and organizers supporting the campaign. More than 4,000 volunteers collected more than 10,000 emergency relief boxes at Expo City Dubai.

Launched last Tuesday, the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign, which runs until Monday 21 October, seeks to provide emergency relief packages to Lebanon, addressing critical humanitarian needs amid the country’s ongoing crisis.

Mansoor said that the campaign serves as proof of the UAE’s core values of compassion and unity, along with its dedication to humanitarian initiatives focused on assisting vulnerable populations. He stressed that the nation’s leaders are committed to providing support to countries in need and making sure that aid reaches the most disadvantaged individuals worldwide.

Mansoor added that the campaign reflects the UAE’s solidarity with the Lebanese people and the deep ties between the two countries, especially in these challenging circumstances.

Volunteers from different nations are helping Dubai Cares manage the collection of relief aid in collaboration with sponsors and corporate leaders in Dubai.

The campaign to pack and collect relief packages will also be held on Sunday, October 13, at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal (Building 1), and on Saturday, October 19, at the Sharjah Expo Centre, in addition to Expo City Dubai.
