Modi Reaffirms India’s Support for Peace in West Asia in UAE Talks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed India’s commitment to support long-term peace, stability and security in West Asia in a meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Modi paid special attention to the implementation of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEEC) as a historic initiative to foster regional connectivity and prosperity.
UAE Foreign Minister Al Nahyan has also arrived in India on a three-day visit.
“Sheikh Abdullah bin Saeed Al Nahyan shared his perspective on the prevailing situation in West Asia. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s commitment to support the long-term peace, stability and security of the region,” the statement read.
At the meeting, Modi and Al Nahyan stressed on strengthening the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership, including technology, energy and people-to-people ties, the India-read report said.
The Prime Minister conveyed his greetings to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
