Saudi Arabia Awards Major Contracts for King Salman International Airport Expansion

King Salman International Airport Development Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (BIF), has awarded four design and engineering contracts to local and international firms for the development of King Salman International Airport in Riyadh.

British architecture and engineering firm Foster and Partners will design the airport’s master plan, state-owned SPA said.

US-based Jacobs Engineering will provide consultancy services for the airport’s detailed master plan and design of new runways.

Mace, a UK-based consultancy and construction company, uses global best practices, innovation and innovation at all stages of planning and construction.

Nera, a Saudi company specializing in technical and operational solutions for aviation, will oversee the design of the airspace to improve the efficiency of air transport and optimize operations using the latest technologies.

Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, who is also PIF Chairman, announced the King Salman International Airport Master Plan in November 2022.

The airport project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to make Riyadh one of the top 10 urban economies in the world and increase Riyadh’s population to 15-20 million by 2030.
