Dubai’s RDA announces new metro norms for peak hours
Enhanced Passenger Assistance Measures Implemented Across Dubai Metro Stations

Dubai’s RDA Implements New Metro Safety Protocols for Peak Hours
Dubai, renowned for its innovative infrastructure and unwavering commitment to excellence, is taking proactive measures to enhance passenger safety and optimize commuting experiences within its acclaimed Dubai Metro system. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently unveiled new daily protocols at Dubai Metro stations, reflecting a strategic approach to crowd management, particularly during peak hours when congestion tends to peak.
These newly introduced protocols, announced on Tuesday, signify Dubai’s dedication to providing world-class transportation services while prioritizing passenger well-being. Central to these measures are the identification of peak hours, strategically defined as follows:
- From 7:00 am to 9:30 am
- From 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Dubai Metro commuters are at the heart of these initiatives, as the RTA seeks to empower them with the necessary tools and information to navigate their journeys seamlessly. To this end, informative signboards have been strategically installed at stations, offering valuable insights and directives to passengers during peak hours. Additionally, dedicated staff members have been stationed within stations to provide on-the-ground assistance, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of commuters.
In a gesture of transparency and customer-centricity, the RTA acknowledges the potential inconvenience that may arise due to these operational adjustments. However, they reaffirm their unwavering commitment to passenger safety and satisfaction, emphasizing that their primary objective is to ensure passengers reach their destinations efficiently and securely.
It’s noteworthy that Dubai Metro services are gradually returning to full operational capacity following the unprecedented rainfall on April 16. However, four stations—Onpassive, Equiti, Al Mashreq, and Energy—remain closed until further notice. In light of this ongoing situation, the RTA issued a timely advisory urging commuters to exercise caution and consider alternative travel arrangements, particularly during peak hours.
As Dubai Metro continues to serve as a vital artery of the city’s transportation network, the RTA remains steadfast in its mission to proactively adapt and optimize service delivery. By fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, Dubai endeavors to maintain its reputation as a global leader in public transportation, ensuring the safety, convenience, and satisfaction of passengers remain paramount at all times.
