UAEV to Implement New EV Tariffs Starting January 2025

Standardized tariffs and enhanced services drive UAE’s sustainable mobility goals

UAEV Adopts New EV Charging Tariffs with Enhanced Services Starting January 2025

UAEV, the UAE’s first government-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has announced that it will adopt the EV tariffs recently introduced by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure from January 2025.

While these tariffs represent an important step towards improving the sustainability and scalability of the network, it is worth noting that EV charging services have remained free since the tariffs were first announced last May. This landmark initiative reflects UAEV’s commitment to quality of service, equitable access to its network, and alignment with the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future.

From January 2025, EV users will benefit from transparent and standardized charging tariffs. The tariff is set at 1.2 DHS/kWh + VAT for DC chargers and 0.70 DHS/kWh + VAT for AC chargers, ensuring fair and consistent pricing while supporting the operational excellence of the network.

The UAEV is launching its user-friendly smartphone app to improve the EV driving experience. By offering features like live status updates, convenient payment methods, and the ability to locate your next charging station, the app will equip EV users with the necessary tools to efficiently navigate the charging network.

UAEV launches a dedicated call center for the application 24/7, providing immediate support and assistance to ensure flawless user experiences at all times.

UAEV Chairman Sharif Al Olama said that this is a significant milestone for the UAE’s sustainable mobility.

“The implementation of standardized charging rates and innovative solutions such as the UAEV app and 24/7 support reflect our ongoing commitment to improving the EV driver experience. By expanding our network and aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, we are driving. A cleaner, greener future for all.”

By 2030, UAEV’s network will have 1,000 chargers strategically located in urban centers, highways and transit points across the UAE. Key locations will be spread across all emirates, ensuring accessibility for EV users within and between cities.

As part of the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 plan, UAEV is committed to reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmentally responsible transportation. By providing high-speed charging options, real-time network uptime monitoring, and strategically placed charging stations, UAEV empowers EV drivers and promotes green transportation across the country.

To accommodate diverse customer needs, UAEV offers an ecosystem of integrated charging solutions. With a focus on reliability, accessibility, and innovation, UAEV is cementing its position as a key enabler of the UAE’s green transition.
