Two Saudi planes deliver trucks, forklifts to aid Egyptian relief for Gaza
Trucks and Forklifts Dispatched to Aid Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has dispatched two aid planes carrying trucks and forklifts to Egypt’s El-Arish International Airport, as reported by the state news agency SPA. The vehicles, presented to the Egyptian Red Crescent, aim to facilitate the loading and transportation of aid destined for the people of Gaza.
This assistance marks the 39th and 40th Saudi relief planes dispatched by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) since the launch of a national campaign in Saudi Arabia in November of the previous year. The campaign is dedicated to supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza, who have been facing considerable challenges, particularly due to Israel’s intense bombardment since October 7, resulting in significant casualties and displacements.
In a statement, KSrelief emphasized the Kingdom’s historical commitment to supporting countries and peoples in need worldwide, standing by them during various crises and challenges. The aid delivery to Gaza is part of this longstanding commitment, reflecting the Kingdom’s dedication to humanitarian causes.
Simultaneously, KSrelief teams continued their efforts to distribute food in crisis-affected areas, notably in Lebanon and Sudan. In Lebanon, the Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project in Akkar Governorate and Al-Minieh District is providing daily distribution of 25,000 bags of bread among Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as the local community. In Sudan’s El-Suki locality of Sennar State, 2,570 beneficiaries received 641 food baskets as part of the Food Security Support Project.
These ongoing initiatives underline Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to addressing humanitarian needs globally, reflecting its dedication to providing support in times of crises and challenges.
