Dubai: Property Damaged by Heavy Rains? WhatsApp Support Number Introduced
Government Initiatives for Storm-Affected Citizens

Dubai Implements WhatsApp Support for Storm-Affected Citizens
In response to the unprecedented heavy rainfall experienced in the UAE, citizens in Dubai grappling with property damages can now seek assistance from authorities via WhatsApp. This initiative follows directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to ensure prompt support for affected individuals during extreme weather conditions.
Under Sheikh Hamdan’s guidance, Omar Hamad Bushahab, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, has spearheaded the establishment of a committee dedicated to assessing requests from affected citizens and devising appropriate solutions. The committee’s primary focus is on prioritizing the preservation and restoration of damaged homes, thereby alleviating the impact of the adverse weather event on affected residents.
A dedicated WhatsApp support number (0583009000) has been allocated to facilitate communication and streamline the process of receiving assistance requests from affected citizens. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to providing swift and efficient support to those in need during challenging times.
Furthermore, the Committee for the Care of Affected People in Dubai, comprising representatives from various authorities in the emirate, will play a pivotal role in coordinating relief efforts and addressing the needs of storm-affected individuals. Emphasizing the importance of expedited rehabilitation efforts, the committee will prioritize the maintenance and rehabilitation of affected citizens’ homes, with the aim of restoring normalcy to all regions of the emirate expeditiously.
Sheikh Hamdan’s directives extend beyond immediate relief measures, encompassing long-term strategies for restoring stability and normalcy in storm-affected areas. The Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency have been tasked with collaborating with real estate developers and residential complex management companies to expedite recovery efforts and ensure the swift return to normalcy in affected areas.
In addition to property rehabilitation efforts, these authorities have pledged to provide a range of essential services to affected individuals at no additional cost. These services include offering alternative housing arrangements, supplying food provisions to affected residents in residential complexes, and conducting sterilization and pest control services to mitigate further disruptions caused by the adverse weather conditions.
As Dubai navigates through the aftermath of the heavy rainfall, these concerted efforts underscore the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being and interests of its citizens, reaffirming its resilience in the face of adversity.
