Saudi aviation delegation visits Chinese aircraft manufacturer and economic zone
Visit boosts aviation cooperation, explores COMAC manufacturing

RIYADH: A distinguished delegation from Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation sector, led by Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, the President of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation, visited the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) in Shanghai, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.
During the visit, the delegates explored COMAC’s facilities, including the assembly line of the C-919 and ARJ-21 aircraft, gaining insights into the stages of aircraft manufacturing. The delegation also delved into COMAC’s future plans for testing and assembly facilities, as well as the latest technologies and innovations in the aviation industry.
The representatives received a comprehensive briefing on COMAC’s missions, details of aircraft design and development, and an overview of the organization’s history since its establishment in 2008. Discussions covered the ongoing specialized research on more efficient and sustainable solutions, as well as the company’s tasks and responsibilities in the design, development, and production of commercial aircraft.
Additionally, the delegation visited the economic zone at Zhengzhou Airport, where they learned about the work of specialized companies and institutions. The focus was on the development of local manufacturing capabilities, collaboration with foreign companies to enhance product quality, global competition, and contributions to improving product quality and advancing technology.
In the presence of vice presidents, CEOs, officials, and aviation experts, Al-Duailej conducted a meeting with Sun Shougang, the Executive Vice Governor of Henan Province. The meeting addressed several issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the strengthening of joint cooperation in civil aviation.
This visit is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing cooperation and expertise exchange in the aviation and space industry. It seeks to explore opportunities for joint collaboration in improving manufacturing, fostering innovation, enhancing air cargo capabilities, attracting investment, and promoting international trade in the aviation sector.
