Doha: In preparation for the ongoing Asian Cup in Doha, the Ministry of Public Health has issued comprehensive health guidelines to ensure the well-being of attendees. Visitors are encouraged to prioritize their health by adhering to various recommendations during the event.

Medical Care Facilities:

  • Visitors have access to excellent medical care in both public and private healthcare institutions, including hospitals, medical centers, clinics, and pharmacies.
  • Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) operates 50 medical clinics across nine venues where Asian Cup events are held. These clinics cater to non-life-threatening health issues and emergency medical conditions.
  • Urgent Care Units of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and private hospitals are also available for medical treatment.
  • In case of emergencies, individuals are advised to call 999 for ambulance services.

Health Precautions:

  1. Mask-Wearing: Visitors are urged to wear masks at all times to reduce the risk of respiratory diseases.
  2. Social Distancing: Maintain a safe distance from individuals exhibiting signs of illness.
  3. Hygiene Practices: Keep hands clean through regular washing. Consume washed and cleaned fruits. Avoid contaminated foods.
  4. Vaccinations: Ensure up-to-date vaccinations for influenza and COVID-19.
  5. Avoid Crowded Places: Refrain from going to crowded areas if experiencing symptoms.
  6. Sun Safety: Protect against sunburn and fatigue by avoiding direct sunlight between 11 am and 4 pm. Wear light-colored clothes, drink plenty of water, and seek medical attention for sun-related issues.
  7. Dust Storms: During heavy dust storms, wear masks and seek immediate medical attention if experiencing difficulty breathing.
  8. Safety While Driving and Walking: Adhere to traffic rules while driving. Avoid mobile phone usage while driving. Use seatbelts. Pedestrians should wear reflective clothing when walking at night and only cross roads in designated lanes.
