flynas Expands UAE Network with New Routes to 8 Destinations
The budget carrier will add three more UAE destinations including Al Maktoum International Airport, Sheikh Zayed International Airport and Sharjah International Airport.
flynas has unveiled an ambitious expansion plan to add eight new destinations and routes to its UAE network as part of its contribution to Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom to 250 international destinations by 2030.
The budget carrier, which currently flies to Dubai International Airport from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah, will add three more UAE destinations, including Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed International Airport and Sharjah International Airport.
It will operate flights from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport to DWC in Dubai and from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on September 1. The low-cost carrier will launch flights connecting Madinah and Sharjah on the same day.
Also, on September 2, Flynas will launch flights from Madinah’s Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport to Sheikh Zayed International Airport.
Operating from its main bases in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah, Flynas is the only Saudi airline serving all four major airports in the UAE with this expansion. This increases flight frequencies to more than 20 flights daily.
Flynas ambitious growth strategy
Meanwhile, Flynns signed a contract with Airbus in July for 160 new planes, including 30 wide-body planes, to increase its purchase orders to 280 planes, underscoring the airline’s commitment to advancing its growth and expansion strategy.
The deal doubles the airline’s total orders to 280 aircraft as it seeks to ramp up to more than 160 aircraft by 2030 from its current operation of 61 aircraft. The expansion is expected to increase Flynas’ capacity and range while improving its overall fleet capabilities.
The addition of A330-900 aircraft will support Flynas’ ambitious growth plans. The aircraft can fly 8,150 nm/ 15,094 km non-stop and will boast a two-class configuration that can accommodate up to 400 passengers.
Since its launch in 2007, Flynas has served more than 80 million passengers with more than 1500 weekly flights to 70 destinations. The airline plans to expand its network to 165 destinations by the end of the decade.
