Bus Service Set to Begin Between Sharjah and Oman Soon

Daily trips between Al Jubail Station in Sharjah and Al Azaiba Bus Station in Muscat to commence

The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) has given the green light for the launch of a transportation service connecting Sharjah and Oman. This initiative follows an agreement between the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) and Oman National Transport Company – Mwasalat. The newly approved service will facilitate daily trips from Al Jubail Station in Sharjah to Al Azaiba Bus Station in Muscat and vice versa.

The decision received approval from Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, who also serves as the chairman of the SEC. This move is poised to enhance connectivity between the two neighboring regions and foster ease of travel for residents and visitors.

In a parallel development, Mwasalat, Oman’s national transport company, reinstated its bus service to the UAE in October of the previous year. This service operates from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, returning via Al Ain, providing an additional means of transportation for individuals traveling between Oman and the UAE.

Furthermore, during the SEC meeting, the council approved the launch of the Model Farmer’s Guide, a strategic initiative aimed at supporting Sharjah’s objective of promoting healthy, chemical-free food. The guide is designed to encourage community members to embark on sustainable agricultural projects and foster entrepreneurship in the productive agriculture sector. Acting as a reference for emerging entrepreneurs and those interested in agricultural production, the guide serves to raise awareness and educate individuals on the sustainability of the agricultural production journey.

Additionally, the SEC approved the exemption of 102 projects from government agency fees by 50% for a duration of two years. These projects, collectively valued at Dhs1.086 million, span diverse economic activities across all cities and regions of Sharjah. The exemption applies to projects funded by Sharjah SME (RUWAD), reflecting the council’s commitment to supporting economic initiatives and encouraging entrepreneurship in the emirate.
