Emirati Women Make Mark in Real Estate at Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition

Sharjah, January 25, 2025 – As part of the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition, as part of the activities of “ACRES 2025”, the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department organized a dialogue session titled “Emirati Women… A Distinctive Footprint in Real Estate”, with the participation of an elite group of Emirati women who have proven their leadership in this important sector.

Amal Obaid Hadid, Head of the Media Department at the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, moderated the session. The workshop also saw the participation of several prominent Emirati figures working in real estate, including Maryam Al Qubaisi, Latifa Bin Haider and Amal Al-Aboudi.

The speakers discussed their pioneering real estate experiences, reviewing their beginnings in the sector, the challenges they faced and the ways they overcame them. They also offered advice to Emirati women who want to enter and invest in the sector.

Hadid added that the role of Emirati women in the sector is very important: “Emirati women play a key role in real estate in the UAE, where they have proven their ability to effectively contribute to various aspects of the sector, whether as leaders in real estate development companies, engineers, planners and investors.”

Maryam Al-Qubaisi explained: “Thanks to wise leadership and the support of women’s empowerment policies, Emirati women have become key partners in shaping the future of real estate through advanced educational opportunities in the fields of engineering and business administration. Women have proven their skills in designing and implementing innovative real estate projects that reflect the modern and sustainable nature of the country.”

Furthermore, Latifa bin Haider stated, “Emirati women have emerged as a key part of the real estate market, with a strong presence in buying and selling real estate as well as managing real estate assets.” Furthermore, government measures, such as women’s empowerment programs in business and real estate financing, have helped to strengthen women’s roles as investors and developers, he said.

Finally, Amal Al-Aboudi, an engineer, remarked, “The success of Emirati women in real estate reflects the country’s commitment to advancing the role of women in key economic sectors, which has made the UAE a global model in empowering women and enhancing their contribution to sustainable development.”

At the end of the session, Obaid Al-Mazloum, Director of the Real Estate Projects Department at SRERD, commended and honored the participants of the dialogue session for their excellence, leadership, and outstanding efforts in serving the real estate of the UAE and Sharjah.
