Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently announced via social media that all government entities and private schools will transition to remote learning and work on Tuesday, April 16.

“Due to upcoming weather conditions, we have instructed all Dubai Government entities and private schools to work remotely on Tuesday, April 16,” Sheikh Hamdan emphasized, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

UAE Government Schools Shift to Remote Learning

This decision aligns with earlier announcements indicating that UAE government schools will adopt remote learning not only on Tuesday but also on Wednesday. The UAE Emirates Foundation for School Education played a pivotal role in advocating for this transition, citing the potential hazards posed by heavy rains and anticipated weather fluctuations.

The Foundation urged government schools to prioritize the safety of administrative staff, educators, and students by facilitating remote learning during this period of inclement weather.

Comprehensive Remote Learning Across Dubai

Moreover, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) reiterated its commitment to ensuring the continuity of education by confirming that all private schools, nurseries, and universities in the city will facilitate remote learning on Tuesday, April 16.

Recognizing the broader implications of adverse weather conditions, the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) issued directives urging private companies to prioritize safety measures for their employees.

MoHRE emphasized the paramount importance of safeguarding worker health and safety during rainy conditions, stressing the need for companies to implement robust safety protocols and ensure that employees are protected during their commute to work.
