UAE’s “Birds of Goodness” Airdrops Deliver 2,000+ Tonnes of Aid to Gaza
Dubai [UAE], April 12: Marking a significant milestone in the ongoing humanitarian effort, the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence proudly announced the successful completion of the 32nd “Birds of Goodness” airdrop operation. This operation, a testament to the UAE’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people, saw the delivery of 87 tonnes of crucial humanitarian aid and Eid clothing to northern Gaza.
This collective effort involved the mobilization of five aircraft, including two C17s from the UAE Air Force and two C295s, alongside one C130 aircraft from the Egyptian Air Force. These aircraft symbolized the collaborative resolve of both nations to extend support to those in need.
The aid packages dispatched through this initiative were carefully curated to address the immediate needs of the residents in northern Gaza. Essential food items formed a significant part of the aid, ensuring that the basic nutritional requirements of the affected communities were met. Additionally, special Eid clothing parcels were included, designed to bring joy and comfort to families during the festive occasion.
The mission aimed to reach isolated areas in northern Gaza that are often inaccessible by land. By utilizing airdrops, the operation effectively circumvented logistical challenges, ensuring that aid reached those in remote and underserved areas.
The impact of the “Birds of Goodness” initiative extends far beyond the tonnage of aid delivered. It represents a beacon of hope for the people of Gaza, serving as a tangible expression of solidarity and compassion during challenging times. With each successful operation, the UAE reaffirms its standing as a global leader in humanitarian assistance, embodying the principles of empathy and altruism on the international stage.
Moreover, when combined with the aid sent through land shipments via the Kerem Shalom crossing, the total assistance provided by the UAE to northern Gaza surpasses an impressive 2395 tonnes. This holistic approach reflects the nation’s comprehensive strategy to address the multifaceted challenges facing the region, encompassing both immediate relief efforts and long-term development initiatives.
The “Birds of Goodness” campaign is an integral component of Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3,” a comprehensive humanitarian endeavor aimed at fostering stability and resilience in Gaza. Through this initiative, the UAE seeks to not only alleviate the immediate suffering of the Palestinian people but also to empower communities and build a brighter future for generations to come.
