Alongside esteemed dignitaries including Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the inauguration marked a significant milestone in the region’s development journey. Nestled along the Sharjah-Kalba Road, near the iconic Al Hiyar Tunnel, this expansive lake serves as a vital water reservoir for the city’s inhabitants while also contributing to the preservation of the local environmental ecosystem.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Sheikh Sultan’s presence, who unveiled a commemorative plaque, symbolizing the official launch of the Al Hefaiyah Lake project. Spanning an impressive area of 132,000 square meters, the Al Hefaiyah Lake stands as a testament to human ingenuity and technological innovation. In addition to its natural attractions, the Al Hefaiyah Lake project encompasses the construction of the Al Hefaiyah Mosque, a stunning architectural masterpiece designed to accommodate 495 worshippers. Reflecting Sharjah’s rich cultural heritage, the mosque features exquisite Fatimid-style architecture adorned with intricate geometric and floral motifs.
