UAE to simplify death certificate and burial procedures in Abu Dhabi

Support team representative will offer assistance on a case-by-case basis via phone

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has unveiled the Sanadkom initiative, a transformative digital platform integrating services from seven key governmental entities. This initiative, launched as part of the Abu Dhabi Programme for Effortless Customer Experience, aims to simplify and enhance procedures for bereaved families, beginning with a focus on UAE nationals and expanding to encompass all residents in the emirate in subsequent phases.

Sanadkom is positioned as a cornerstone in elevating the customer experience for families grappling with the loss of an Emirati member. Dr Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the DoH, emphasized the unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional government services under the guidance of visionary leadership.

At the core of the Sanadkom initiative is the provision of streamlined access to government services for bereaved families. A pivotal aspect involves assigning a representative from the joint government support team on a case-by-case basis, offering assistance and support to families through remote phone-based interactions. This approach eliminates the necessity for physical visits to government entities, fostering a more seamless and compassionate process.

The comprehensive support provided by Sanadkom encompasses a spectrum of death-related transactions, ranging from obtaining death certificates to facilitating burial arrangements. Additionally, the initiative extends its assistance to the distribution of retirement pension benefits to beneficiaries on behalf of the insured or deceased.

Sanadkom serves as a digital nexus, integrating services from seven key governmental entities in Abu Dhabi. These include the DoH, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF), Abu Dhabi Health Services Company – SEHA, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC).

Dr Al Ghaithi underscored the significance of Sanadkom as a collaborative endeavor involving seven governmental entities, united in the mission to provide an integrated and efficient service for bereaved families. This initiative represents a notable milestone in advancing services for families navigating the challenging period of loss, aligning with the broader vision of enhancing public services and customer experiences.
