UAE Expands Visa-on-Arrival for Indians, Adds Six More Countries
The UAE has expanded the list of countries eligible for the Visa on Arrival scheme for Indians to six more, effective from February 13. This policy change will facilitate entry into the UAE for Indian travellers by allowing them to obtain a visa at the point of entry without having to apply in advance.
New Eligible Countries
Indian passport holders can now take advantage of the UAE’s visa-on-arrival program if they have valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. These six nations are added to the current list, which currently consists of the United States, countries in the European Union, and the United Kingdom.
Eligibility Criteria for Visa on Arrival
To be eligible for the UAE Visa on Arrival Scheme, Indian visitors must meet the following requirements:
Valid Passport: They must hold a regular Indian passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.
Eligible Permit or Visa: Travelers must have a current Green Card, Residence Permit or Visa from one of the eligible countries.
Visa Fee Payment: The relevant visa fee must be paid upon arrival at the UAE immigration checkpoints.
The extension of the Visa on Arrival Scheme is in line with the UAE’s efforts to improve connectivity, increase tourism and strengthen business ties with Indian tourists. The UAE maintains its position as a top international travel and investment destination by facilitating entry.
