UAE Denounces Assault on UNIFIL Forces in Lebanon

Sharjah24: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the attack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission, which resulted in the injuries of several members of the international force.

Assistant Minister of State for Political Affairs Lana Zaki Nusseibeh confirmed that the UAE strongly condemns the attack on international troops.

Nusseibeh reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast stance and unflinching backing for Lebanon, its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the critical role UNIFIL plays in maintaining peace in Lebanon.

Additionally, he restated the UAE’s backing for global initiatives to defuse the situation and bring about an urgent ceasefire.

The UAE also hoped for the quick recovery of all injured peacekeepers and conveyed sympathy with the nations where UNIFIL soldiers were hurt.
