UAE NCM Warns of Tropical Depression Near India’s Western Coast

The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Thursday, October 10 issued a warning to residents of a low pressure system south of the Arabian Sea near the west coast of India.

It will intensify into a tropical depression on Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15 and move towards the Central Arabian Sea.

In a statement posted on X, the NCM said the accuracy of information about the severity of the situation and its trajectory will increase as it develops.

The expected tropical depression has two potential tracks:

It moves west to the central Arabian Sea and then to the central Oman coast.

Moving west-southwest to the central Arabian Sea and then to Socotra.

The NCM stated that it will be informed of any updates regarding the situation and that tropical events are frequently susceptible to abrupt and dramatic changes.
