China and UAE Push for Swift China-GCC Free Trade Agreement
Premier Li Qiang of China stated on Thursday that his country is prepared to carry on collaborating with the UAE and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations in order to facilitate an early conclusion of talks on the China-GCC Free Trade Agreement.
Premier Li said this in Abu Dhabi at a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates.
Li said China is willing to further expand the scale of bilateral trade with the UAE, explore cooperation in new energy, electric vehicles, high-end manufacturing, biomedicine, digital economy and other fields, and jointly build a perspective system of emerging industries. and future industries, and foster new economic growth points.
The UAE president said the UAE adheres to the one-China policy and is willing to be China’s reliable cooperative partner and strategic partner in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
